ApparelWin guide

YouTube API Services Privacy

How ApparelWin accesses, uses, stores and deletes data obtained through YouTube API Services, and how to revoke that access.

YouTube channel connection

ApparelWin uses YouTube API Services to publish our own marketing videos to our own YouTube channel and to read and reply to comments left on those videos. This page explains what happens when an authorised member of our team connects a YouTube channel to ApparelWin.

This page supplements our main Privacy Policy, which covers everything else we collect from buyers and from people who contact us on Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, or email. Where this page and the main policy overlap, this page governs YouTube data specifically.

What we access

When a channel is connected, the person connecting it signs in with Google and chooses whether to grant access. Only after they approve do we receive anything. What we then access through the YouTube API is:

  • The channel's public identity: channel ID, channel name, and channel avatar. We use this so the person connecting can confirm they have connected the right channel.
  • Videos that ApparelWin uploads through this service: the video ID, title, description, tags, thumbnail, privacy status, and publish time.
  • Public statistics for those videos, such as view count, like count, and comment count.
  • Comments and replies on those videos, including the comment text, the display name and public avatar of the person who wrote it, and the time it was posted.

We do not access private videos we did not upload, watch history, subscriptions, private playlists, monetisation or revenue data, or any other channel's private information. We never ask for, collect, or store a YouTube or Google password.

How we use it

  • Video details and statistics are used to show our team what has been published and how it is performing, inside our internal marketing dashboard.
  • Comments are used so our team can read and reply to buyers who ask about our products, in the same place they handle Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and email enquiries.
  • We do not use YouTube data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not build advertising profiles from it.
  • We do not allow any third party to serve content or advertisements through this service.

How long we keep it

Video records, statistics, and comment records are stored on servers and cloud file storage that we operate through Alibaba Cloud, in the same systems described in our main Privacy Policy. We refresh them from YouTube rather than treating our copy as the record of truth.

If you revoke our access to your YouTube data, we delete the data we obtained under that permission within 7 calendar days.

Cookies and device storage

Connecting a YouTube channel does not place cookies or any other storage on your device. Our internal dashboard uses a session cookie so that our own staff stay signed in; that cookie is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

How to revoke access

You can withdraw our access to your YouTube data at any time, without contacting us, from the Google security settings page.

Revoking there stops all further access immediately. In addition to that, you can ask us to delete data we already hold by following the instructions on our data deletion page, or by emailing consult63@apparelwin.com.

Questions and complaints

If you have a question or a complaint about how we handle YouTube data, email consult63@apparelwin.com and tell us the channel name concerned. We acknowledge within 5 business days.

Other terms that apply

Our use of information received from YouTube API Services is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and to the Google Privacy Policy.
